Faculty Advisor: Sally Nalven
I am the Director of the Child Development Center and a professor at Miramar College. I have a
Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology, a Master of Arts Degree in Developmental Psychology
and a Masters Degree in Business Administration. I have been working at Miramar College for
over twenty years and love the friendly, caring environment. I have three grown children, a

are taking hikes, going to the movies, and spending time with family and friends.

I am returning to school after retiring in 2007 from the City of San Diego.  I have a B.A. in Sociology from Sonoma State University and I am a licensed nurse.  I became interested in Child Development after volunteering at my church to teach a pre k-k Sunday school class, and found it fun and fascinating.  I'm currently working on getting my teaching certification for preschool.  I'm a native Californian, having lived in San Diego for many years, as well as Sonoma County in Northern California.   I live with my 2 dogs and 9 cats (8 of them feral which I trapped and took in to get spayed and neutered).  I love reading, movies, gardening, nature, my pets, and swimming in the ocean.  Watch for me on TV during the annual New Years Day swim at La Jolla Shore (I always try to get myself on TV)!   I look forward to having a wonderful semester with new adventures with all of you.

I am from Iran and came to USA 9 years ago.  I love my family and I choose Child Development as a major to educate myself as a mother.  I have a son and a daughter (twins) almost 4 year old.  They are in the Astros class and love their teachers in the Child Development Center. I love reading and walking with my kids.  I am currently working towards my Associate degree in Child Development and my long term goal is to pursue a Masters degree in Child Development. As a board member, I look forward to working with the other board members, making it a wonderful experience for each one of us and to help open the lines of communication amongst parents, students, teachers and children.

I am currently working towards my Associate Degree and Child Development is my major. I am  mom and my son is a happy student in Teacher Cindie's Gummy Bear Classroom. Early childhood education is an important area and I hope to be able to contribute in this field as an educator. I enjoy travelling and recently visited New Mexico where I have family. In the future, I hope to backpack through Europe. I am proud to be the Treasurer of the PSAB and look forward to the semester’s activities.

I was born and raised in Mexico, but I came to San Diego  back in 1999. I took ESL classes to better my English and to be able to go to College, and finally, in 2008 i got my Associates in Liberal Arts. I am the proud mother of two wonderful boys, ages 4 and almost  2 respectively. My oldest is in the Astros with teacher Dawn, and hopefully next semester my little one will be able to join teacher Carla's Sticky Bear classroom. My boys are the reason i came back to Miramar College; i wanted to learn to be a better mother, and just be actively engaged in the lives of my boys. i took Child Develoment classes for a while, but just this semester i gave it a little twist to my career goals. I am currently working on my prerequisites for the CNR program. I have decided that i want to be a nurse.
I am very excited to be a member of the PSAB Board, and i am definitely looking forward to the Semester's activities and to getting to know all of you!
